Water Awareness

On June 8 we started water awareness lessons at CLM pools in Morrin rd. I was really excited to go swimming because I love being in water. When the girls first got on the bus I was super duper excited. When we arrived we hopped off the bus and walked inside. When we went inside we saw the juniors swimming. So we went up stairs to the big pool and waited for the juniors to finish their swimming.                                                                                                                                                                                           At first I was really nervous since I didn't know what to expect. I learned how to be a starfish and just float in the water. This is important to do if we are ever stuck out in the ocean and we need to float until help comes. We must not panic.

We also learned how to kick properly and to kick with straight legs. The best part was when we got to get out and jump into the pool at the end of the lessons. When we finished we got out and waited in a line to hop back on the bus.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      Everyday when we got back from swimming we changed. We had something to eat and we were all pretty tired. We had to find a place to dry our towels and togs for the next day. Mainly we put them over our chairs. Then the bell for the end of the day would ring.

I enjoyed swimming. Thank you to the Board of Trustees for paying for us to go to these special lessons. I can't wait till we can go again. Maybe next year.
